  • Chocolate pots de creme are one of my favorite chocolate desserts and I can’t wait to see this recipe in my own copy of your cookbook soon!

      Hi Katie,
Let me know what you think!

      • I made this for a dinner party last month and loved it. It was slightly too solidly set (if that makes sense) but I probably measured a heaping Tbsp agar flakes (rather than a flat Tbsp – slightly more than necessary probably), and I know how the smallest change in quantity of agar can affect the recipe, as you pointed out in the book. But that said I found that the texture softened nicely when I allowed it to come to room temp before eating. And I loved it with a quick chocolate sauce (warmed coconut oil, raw cacao, and maple) drizzled over.

  • I’ve really loved reading the article on Design Sponge, and seeing the photos of your beautiful kitchen! Your book has quickly become a favourite of mine and I recommend it often. While I keep it in my kitchen for easy-referencing, I really think that it would be equally appropriate on a coffee table, as the photos are just so gorgeous to look at. I noticed the reference to ABC home for your props in the book (a dreamy land of beautiful things!). Is that where you got the cute little spoon in the pots de creme photo too?

    • Amy Chaplin says:

Hi Christine, Thank you so much for writing. I’m thrilled to hear you like the book and recommend it often!
Yes the spoon is from ABC. I found it amongst a pile of old spoons and saw they had more recently. It was pretty inexpensive.
      Thanks for all your support!

Amy, got your book and absolutely love it. I’m learning so much! The photos are beautiful. I can’t wait to try some recipies including this one. This is truly my favorite cookbook.

  • I just bought your book as an early Christmas gift for myself. Can’t wait to read it and try the recipes. Heard so many good things about it!

Do you buy rice milk or make it? I find homemade rice milk is slimy and unpleasant to use for your chocolate pots de creme recipe.

    • Amy Chaplin says:

      Hi Helena,
I used boxed for this recipe but you could also change it out for almond milk….it may then need a little more sweetener as rice milk is naturally sweet.

Is there a homemade recipe for the rice milk.
